A Sprinkler System consists of water supply and one or more sprinkler installations, each installation consist of a set of installation control valves and a pipe array fitted with sprinkler heads. The sprinkler heads are fitted at specified locations at the roof or ceiling, and where necessary between racks, below shelves.
There are Two Types of Sprinkler Heads
Automatic Sprinklers
Open Type Sprinklers
Automatic Sprinklers
It has a heat responsive glass bulb.
The glass bulb contains a fluid which expands when exposed to heat.
When the rated temperature is reached the bulb shatters and water flows through the sprinkler and strikes the deflector, forming a uniform water spray pattern to control or extinguish the fire.
Open Type Sprinklers
MVW (Medium Velocity Water) Spray Nozzles &
HVW (High Velocity Water ) Spray Nozzles
It is manually operated or semi automatic operated . When isolation valve is open water will flow out from this with spray.
Working Principal
An automatic sprinkler system is intended to detect, control and extinguish a fire, and warn the occupants of occurrence of fire. Each sprinkler head contains a glass bulb. The bulb contains a liquid which expands under the influence of heat as do the fusible link heads. When the temperature reaches a certain level – typically at 68*c, it will expand the liquid and break the bulb or fusible link, which in turn releases water directly onto the fire.
